From Wiktionary under the GNU Free Documentation License. Reproduction is the biological process by which new individual organisms are produced. Reproduction is a fundamental feature of all known life; each individual organism exists as the result of reproduction. The known methods of reproduction are broadly grouped into two main types: sexual and asexual. In asexual reproduction, an individual can reproduce without involvement with another individual of that species. The division of a bacterial cell into two daughter cells is an example of asexual reproduction. Asexual reproduction is not, however, limited to single-celled organisms. Most plants have the ability to reproduce asexually. Sexual reproduction requires the involvement of two individuals, typically one of each sex. Normal human reproduction is a common example of sexual reproduction. From Wikipedia under the
GNU Free Documentation License What are some main differences between an original painting and its reproduction? Q. Reproduction such as a postcard. Asked by Deesa - Mon Mar 26 11:42:35 2007 - - 4 Answers - 0 Comments A. Sometimes the original color of a painting is changed when it is reproduced (e.g. the painting will be given more of a yellow undertone than it actually has). This isn't as common anymore, but it still can happen. Also, because there is often a difference in size, many details of the image are lost. Also, some paintings can be breathtaking for their size, and are not as impressive when shrunken (Stuart Davis is a good example of this). Since many painters have actual texture on their paintings from the thickness of paint (think Van Gogh), the light of the gallery develops a relationship of the painting that is lost in the reproduction. The loss of the actual texture also takes away from the beauty of the image in general - it seems… [cont.] Answered by Emily B - Mon Mar 26 14:55:54 2007 Do insects help in plants asexual reproduction? Q. Do insects help in plants asexual reproduction? Like maybe Honey bees. Asked by TX999 - Thu Jun 12 18:56:48 2008 - - 16 Answers - 0 Comments A. No. I do not understand how so many folks said "yes, pollination by insects helps plants with asexual reproduction" -- if you're transferring pollen to ovules, that is *sexual* production (albeit via a vector). Asexual reproduction in plants is via ramets, rhizomes and other vegetative structures, and insects have little to nothing to do with that. Honey bees certainly do not have a role to play in the growth of such asexual structures in plants. Q. What does the "role of the media in the reproduction of crime" refer to? I am assuming this is referring to moral panics and deviancy amplification, and the interplay between the media and policy-making. Asked by Ria - Wed Jun 25 04:27:54 2008 - - 1 Answers - 1 Comments A. The media picks what information gets delivered based on interest and money. If a girl is believed to be kidnapped in a town that story would be in every single station. Now take that same girl and instead she is believed to run away, the story does not even make the back of the newspaper. if you think about it the story does not change but the perception does. The parents are still missing their girl, but the news feels people would lose interest because she ran away instead of being kidnapped. Lets keep the same story just to show how the media plays a role on the reproduction of crime or at least the perception of it. Lets say this story comes from a small town. In the news this story becomes an epidemic, and tries to draw all of the… [cont.] Answered by jay4018 - Wed Jun 25 14:07:26 2008 From Yahoo Answer Search: "reproduction" Study: Slight reduction in human reproduction in Yemen
