What birth control should I ask for that clears breakouts?
Q. Okay so I am going to the doctor to go on birth control because my periods are all messed up, plus I break out a lot during my period which I definitely want to do away with. Normally I have mild acne; a pimple here or there but before my period it's HORRIBLE. Anyway I was wondering what birth control I should ask for that definitely gets rid of acne? Please & Thanks!

A. I've struggled with terrible acne since I was 13 (now 19). I had tried every prescription drug there was, including Acutane. And finally got desperate enough to try Proactiv (huge waste of money) and Clean and Clear advanced. My OB/GYN put me on Yaz. I haven't had acne since. Completly cleared my complexion. I don't think this is the case for every person, but I know it definitely helped me.

What are the chances of my cat giving birth to stillborn kittens?
Q. This is my cat's first pregnancy. She will be one year in March, and is due April 7th. So she'll be one year when she gives birth. What are the chances of her giving birth to stillborns? Does this happen often...I have so many questions... 1.What are the chances of her giving birth to stillborns? 2. Should I help her during birthing, like cut the placenta? 3. I go to school during the day, so what happens if she gives birth during the day?

A. well first off congratulations :) giving birth to stillborns is unlikely and not something that happens very often. if it happens there is unfortunatly noting you can do. you are probably not going to be there during the birth as they hide, like to be alone, and you are at school it is unlikely to happen between 3:00 and 10:00 or even on the expected date, its a guess and many come early or late. cats give birth on their own the majority of the time and it is completely fine, in fact most cats prefer it. i would suggest not to cut the placeta as the mother cat should eat it as she would in the wild. i would say, if you are going to be with the cat at birth, (which is good in some ways but you may stress the cat out. try not to let her… [cont.]

What birth defects can a baby have that cannot be found first?
Q. I know tests can find out most "problems" that a baby might have (Down syndrome etc), but what kind of problems would only show up after birth? I assume they are checking that all hands and feet are there beforehand right? Can you also see big birthmarks before the birth through ultrasound (I've seen babies with big birth marks on their face, does that show before?) - and what could come as a big shock AFTER the birth, that is a serious handicap for a child?
Asked by Pi - Fri Jan 30 10:55:17 2009 - - 7 Answers - 0 Comments

A. There are lots of thing that may not show up for days or even years. No amount of testing will show whether or not your baby is deaf or blind. My brother is autistic and obviously that didn't show up for years. There is also bi-polar disorder and other mental illnesses that can cause serious handicaps in life that will never show up on any test. Birth marks also do not show up. Genetic issues such as hemophilia often don't show up until after birth, for boys it's often during the circumcision. Genetic testing and ultrasounds only show a hand full of the problems that can come up.
